Public Safety
As Councilmember, Robert Torres helped expand neighborhood watch groups, hosted Town Hall meetings and listened to neighborhood concerns. Growing up as a young Latino male, he experienced first hand how it feels to be wrongfully targeted by law enforcement. That is why he helped secure funding for police officer body cameras and is working to establish the city’s first police commission. Robert Torres will also fight against budget cuts to fire and paramedic services and work to improve 911 response times.
