BUILDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Robert Torres knows we need new ideas and a fresh approach to deal with the affordable housing crisis. As our State Assemblymember, Robert will work to eliminate outdated laws so we can build more housing faster, create good-paying construction jobs, and prioritize housing that is affordable for working families.

CREATING GOOD-PAYING JOBS
Robert Torres is a former union member and is 100% committed to protecting workers' rights. In the Assembly, Robert will fight for good-paying jobs with benefits, safe working conditions, paid family medical leave, equal pay for equal work. And he will always put the interests of working families first. That’s why Robert is endorsed by frontline healthcare workers, public school educators and construction workers.

INVESTING IN SAFER COMMUNITIES
Robert Torres will invest in local police, firefighters and paramedics to reduce emergency response times and keep our neighborhoods safe. He is committed to expanding after school programs to increase tutoring, mentoring and recreational programs that keep kids off streets, out of trouble and away from drugs and gangs.

FIXING THE HOMELESSNESS CRISIS
Robert Torres knows that policies created by Sacramento bureaucrats and politicians to reduce homelessness are not working. In the State Assembly, Robert will fight to give local governments that directly deal with the crisis more authority to enact policies that make sense for their communities — so we can clean up neighborhoods and get people off the streets and into supportive housing with treatment and mental health services.

FULLY FUNDING PUBLIC EDUCATION
Like all parents, Robert Torres wants his children to have access to good schools that are safe. As our State Assemblymember, Robert will work to fully fund education and make sure neighborhood schools have up-to-date security and fire safety systems so students and teachers can focus on learning. He will fight to invest in community colleges and career education programs, expand job training opportunities and make college more affordable to reduce student debt.
